Faith Baptist Counseling Ministry

Hope and Help for life.

This is what the LORD says:
“Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Jeremiah 6:16
What is the Faith Baptist Counseling Ministry (FBCM)?
A Ministry of Faith Baptist Church that is dedicated to assisting hurting people of all ages regardless of race, background or denominational preference. Compassionate, Biblical counsel is provided. God's principles, found throughout the Bible, are brought to bear upon life situations. Difficulties are identified and resolutions are discovered, resulting in true biblical change.

Types of Counseling
Premarital, marital strife, divorce, singles' concerns, and family conflict are just a few of the cases we work with at the counseling ministry. Some common counseling issues include marital discord, child/teen rebellion, co-dependency, depression, grief, anxiety, eating disorders, physical or sexual abuse, self esteem, and addictions/substance abuse.

The Counseling Format
The general format of counseling involves a 60 minute session scheduled weekly or bi-weekly (at the same appointment time). The number of sessions varies (as do the problems) on a case-by-case basis. All counseling is done at the church by appointment, with hours available in the morning, afternoon and early evening (between 4-6pm).

Arrangements and appointments
Arrangements are made by calling the church office at (609)585-9186 Monday through Friday during the hours of 8am -4pm. At times there may be a waiting list. We make every effort to care for all requests as soon as possible. From the perspective of good stewardship, we ask you to consider your counseling time as a contract. Your counselor is committed to you for a designated hour on a weekly basis (unless there has been another arrangement). This is your hour until your need for counseling is satisfied. Your personal scheduling should reflect this.

Is there a fee?
Faith Baptist Counseling Ministry (FBCM) is a ministry of Faith Baptist Church. We do not charge a specific fee for counseling. However, since there are costs involved in maintaining this ministry, counselees may want to express their thanks and help maintain the ministry in a tangible way. Donations should be made to Faith Baptist Church, not to the counselor. Also, part of the weekly homework assignments may require purchasing materials that relate to the counseling being done. Counselees are expected to pay for these materials. We encourage and welcome donations to the Counseling Fund. Should you choose to make such a donation, please make your check payable to Faith Baptist Church and mark it as a counseling donation.

Cancellation Guidelines:
Please contact the church office at least 24 hours in advance if you have reason to cancel your appointment. The office phone number is (609)585-9186.

FBCM Staff
Our counselors have had extensive training and experience in biblical counseling. All of the primary counselors hold undergraduate and graduate degrees accredited Bible colleges and Seminaries or graduate schools. They are biblically trained in discipleship. Those seeking help represent a variety of religious, vocational, racial, and financial backgrounds. All ages are counseled. The problems of all are explored, understood and ministered to through the grid of the Word of God. All are welcome. The grace of God is applied to every problem through His Word.
